Tips Time: Staying Motivated to Keep Moving Through the Winter Months
We all experience it, that little voice inside your head saying “It’s too dark”, “It’s too cold”, “I’m too tired”, “I’m too sore” or “I’ll go tomorrow”. With
the winter months fast approaching these voices can often go into overdrive!! Follow some of the tips in this article to shut those voices up and stay active and healthy!!
Set a goal – This can be anything from completing a 5k run, fitting into those skinny jeans with ease, performing push-ups on your toes instead of your knees to easing that back pain you suffer from daily.
Train for an event – Melbourne is a huge hub for physical activity. There is a wide range of events throughout the calendar year for you to choose from. Choose an event that you know you will enjoy or do it for a charity that inspires you.
Train with a group – Having other people to train with can not only get you to go to the session in the first place but it can help you work harder whilst you are there. Having others pushing themselves beside you is all the motivation you need sometimes to keep pushing yourself!
Variety – Vary your exercise routine. Mix it up to keep yourself from getting bored with the same thing. At FK we have plenty of variety! You can choose from Boot camps, HIT, Core, Boxing, Strength Sessions and the Running Club. Or why not even try a personal training session it could just be that extra bit of motivation that you need.
Focus on the benefits – What does exercise do for you? How does it make you feel? Its simple exercise makes you feel good! It energises, de-stresses and makes you feel happy & content. And don’t get me started on all the physical benefits or I’ll be here all day 😉
